歷史背景Historical background
麟峯文公祠位於新田蕃田村，是新田文氏為紀念第八世祖文佛保（號麟峯）而建的宗祠。文氏原籍四川，南宋（一一二七至一二七九）時南遷江西、廣東，約十五世紀開始在新田定居。據當地父老相傳，公祠約建於十七世紀中葉，採傳統三進兩院式佈局，中廳安放文氏的祖先神位。公祠昔日除作祭祀之用，亦曾充當村中更練（巡邏隊）的辦事處，以及供族中子弟讀書的場所。祠堂於一九八七年完成全面修復，一九八三年列為法定古蹟。
Man Lun Fung Ancestral Hall in Fan Tin Tsuen, San Tin, is the ancestral hall built by the San Tin Man clan to commemorate Man Fat-po (alias Lun-fung), the clan's eighth-generation ancestor. The Mans originally came from Sichuan and moved south to Jiangxi and Guangdong during the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279), beginning to settle in San Tin in about the 15th century. Local elders say the hall was built around the middle of the 17th century. It follows the traditional three-hall, two-courtyard plan, with the ancestral soul tablets kept in the middle hall. In the past it also served as the office of the village patrol force and as a school for the clan's children. Fully restored in 1987, it was declared a monument in 1983.
