歷史背景Historical background
楊侯宮位於廈村東頭村東北角，由當地東頭三村的鄧氏族人興建，以紀念南宋末年為保護末帝而捐軀的忠臣楊亮節，後人尊他為侯王。故老相傳該廟已有二百多年歷史，正門石匾刻有「嘉慶辛未年」，可知其建於清嘉慶十六年（一八一一年）之前。廟宇原為兩進一天井格局，天井後來加蓋屋頂，改作香亭。前廳兩座鼓台和石柱以紅砂岩砌成，後廳設三個神壇，供奉侯王、金花娘娘和土地神，廟內飾有精細木雕和彩繪。廟的東北面另建附祠，供奉清初廣東官員王來任，他曾上書朝廷請求撤銷遷界令。一九八八年列為法定古蹟。
Yeung Hau Temple in Tung Tau Tsuen, Ha Tsuen, is believed to have been built by the Tang clan of the three eastern villages in memory of Yang Liangjie, a loyal Southern Song official later worshipped as Yeung Hau. Villagers say it is over 200 years old, and the stone plaque above its entrance, marked with the xinwei year of the Jiaqing reign, shows it was built before 1811. The courtyard was later roofed over as an incense tower. Its two front drum platforms and stone columns are of red sandstone, and the rear hall's three altars hold statues of Hau Wong, Lady Kam Fa and the Earth God. An annex honours the Qing official Wang Lairen, who petitioned to repeal the Evacuation Edict. Declared a monument in 1988.
