歷史背景Historical background
李鄭屋漢墓位於深水埗李鄭屋邨，是香港唯一已知的東漢磚室墓。1955年，政府在李鄭屋村夷平山坡興建徙置大廈時發現此墓，墓內出土58件陶器和青銅器。專家從墓室形制、墓磚銘文和出土文物推斷，該墓建於東漢時期（公元25至220年）。墓室呈十字形、有穹頂，是當時廣東一帶常見的墓葬設計。為穩定墓室內的濕度和溫度、減慢損耗，墓室不對外開放，公眾可透過玻璃窺看內部。漢墓1988年列為法定古蹟，現址為李鄭屋漢墓博物館。
The Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb in Sham Shui Po is Hong Kong's only known Eastern Han brick chamber tomb. It was discovered in 1955, when the government was levelling a hillside at Lei Cheng Uk Village to build resettlement blocks; 58 pottery and bronze objects were found inside. From the tomb's design, inscriptions on its bricks and the burial objects, archaeologists deduced that it was built during the Eastern Han dynasty (AD 25-220). The cross-shaped tomb with a domed roof was a common design in Guangdong at the time. To stabilise humidity and temperature and slow deterioration, the chamber is not open to visitors, who can view it through a glass panel. Declared a monument in 1988, the site is now the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum.
