伯大尼修院The Bethanie

伯大尼修院一八七五年由法國外方傳教會建成，是該會在東亞首間療養院，供患熱帶病的傳教士休養。自一八七五年起接待約六千名傳教士，直到一九七四年關閉前，一直是法國天主教會在東亞傳教工作的重要基地。建築其後由政府接管，一九七八至一九九七年租予香港大學；二〇〇二年政府決定租予香港演藝學院作電影電視學院院址，修復及改建工程二〇〇六年完成，此後成為演藝學院第二校園。建築屬新哥德式，由小聖堂、療養院及服務翼三部分組成，四邊設遊廊；地庫層為毛石及方石基牆，並以拱廊通往遊廊。二〇一三年列為法定古蹟。

The Bethanie was completed in 1875 by the French Society of Foreign Missions as its first sanatorium in East Asia, where sick missionaries recovered from tropical diseases before returning to work. From 1875 it received some 6,000 missionaries and served as a base for French Catholic missionary work in East Asia until it closed in 1974. The government later took it over and leased it to the University of Hong Kong from 1978 to 1997; in 2002 it was leased to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and after restoration in 2006 it became the Academy's second campus. The Neo-gothic building comprises a chapel, a sanatorium and a service wing, with verandahs on all four sides. Declared a monument in 2013.
